The mean part of this overview contains articles written mostly by members of the Salamandersoceity and published in Lacerta, the magazine of the Dutch Society for Herpetology and Herpetoculture, LACERTA.

An overview is also given of the recent books concerning newts and salamanders.
Only two books on this subject are written in the Dutch language.
